Japan JOLED Developed World's First Printed OLED Panel
JOLED is an OLED panel company that integrates Sony and Panasonic OLED panel businesses and accepts shares from Japan's government-government fund industry innovation agency (INCJ) and Japan Display Inc. it officially launched on January 15, 2015. at present, INCJ holds 75% of JOLED's shares, while JDI, Sony and Panasonic hold 15%, 5% and 5% respectively.
JDI Plan to Increase JOLED Shareholding
JDI plans to increase JOLED's shareholding to 51% in late December 2017 and include JOLED as its subsidiary. JOLED President Dongjin Lai Xinbo is also expected to take up the post of JDI President in June this year. Japanese media reported that JOLED has received orders from Sony, and JOLED announced that it will start selling OLED panel products in early 2018. JOLED President Dongjin Lai Xinbo said at a press conference that in the medium-sized panel part, printed technology will become the standard for OLED panels.
Nikkei News reported that JOLED showed 16 OLED panel products that can be used in a wide range of applications such as televisions, medical monitors, game monitors and flat panels at the recent technology exhibition. It also showed curved medium-sized products with OLED characteristics and will be produced in small quantities in JDI factories this fall.
